community matters

Many people attempt not only to grow in their faith but also to navigate real life, which often leads to feelings of loneliness, lack of accountability, isolation, inconsistency, and discouragement; the list goes on. It can feel easier at first to do things on your own, but over time, it becomes harder to stay disciplined, motivated, and consistent. Spiritual growth and life were never meant to happen in isolation, and trying to do it alone can make you feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and slow down your progress.

Without community, it becomes difficult to stay encouraged, accountable, and focused. You deprive yourself of the support you need when you feel stuck, the lending ears when you need to vent, people to get into the valleys with you when life gets hard, people to give you a hug when you need comfort, or people to remind you why you started and who you are, that you matter and that you are loved and worth doing life with. This is why community is important and needed. It provides a space where you can be real, ask questions, and continue growing even when it feels challenging.

Being surrounded by others who are also trying to grow creates support, accountability, and guidance. It allows people to glean and learn from each other’s experiences and figure this crazy life out together. You can see how others apply their faith and life lessons, which can help you better understand how to apply them in your own life.

Living out your faith daily and navigating life becomes easier when you are not doing it alone. Community helps you stay grounded, builds confidence, and reminds you that growth is a process that requires endurance for the long haul. It is not about being perfect, but about showing up for yourself every day and putting one foot in front of the other.

Never be afraid or ashamed to ask for help; we all need support. Shoot, even Jesus had friends. Growth happens stronger and more consistently when it is done together.
